Sookhi Moong Ki Dal

Sookhi-Moong-Dalingredients
yellow moong dal: 1 cup soaked for 2-3 hours.
Jeera: 1 tsp
Hing: pinch
Ginger sliced thinly: 2 tsp
Hari mirch: chopped
Dhania powder: 11/2 tsp
Salt: to taste
Red chili: to taste
Haldi: ¼ tsp
Hara dhania: 1 tbsp
Lemon: 1

Drain the moong dal and keep aside. Dry roast Jeera and hing. Add ginger and green chilies and sauté it. Add dal, dhania powder, salt, haldi, red pepper and mix well. Now add a cup of water and bring to boil, and then simmer for 10 min. make sure all the water is absorbed. Squeeze some lemon and garnish with coriander.

Cooked yellow moong dal is a very digestive and nutritious food. It is especially useful for people with weak digestion. It is rich source of protein and carbohydrate, as well as calcium and phosphorus. Jeera seeds are good source of iron, manganese. Ginger and Hing are reputed as a drug which expels wind from the stomach and counteracts any spasmodic disorders. Coriander leaves strengthen the digestive system. Its leaves are rich in Vitamin A, B1, B2, C and iron. Lemon is rich source of Vitamin C and excellent for digestion. It is an ideal snack for weight watchers .You can eat this instead of yellow moong dal cheela. Avoid eating any roti or bread with it for dinner.
