- The foods and beverages that most commonly trigger heartburn include: Citrus fruits, Citrus juices, Chocolate, Excessive alcohol consumption (especially red wine),Tomatoes and tomato-based products, Caffeinated beverages, such as coffee, Carbonated beverages, such as colas
- Avoid alcohol, reduce the amount of coffee and tea and avoid them entirely during an attack
- Don’t smoke. It will irritate the stomach lining.
- Avoid painkillers or medicines which cause acidity.
- Drink at least 9-10 glasses of water per day.

- Mix a pinch of baking soda ( Sodium Bicarbonate) in a glass of water and drink it for instant relief.
- Mix a pinch of asafetida in lassi and drink.
- Make a mixture of sendha namak+ ajwain, in 1:1 ratio, take a pinch of this mixture after meal.
- Coconut water and lemon tea relieves acidity.
- Boil ½ inch grated ginger in 1 glass water ; strain and drink in sips.
- Raisins because of their excess alkalinity is good to reduce acidosis- soak 4-5 overnight and consume it every day.
